Prospects of Ropeways in Nepal
Abstract :
The speed of economic development of a country depends upon the development of transportation facilities. An efficient transportation network can make the movement of people and goods easier and effective. One of the major causes of slow progress observed in Nepalese economy and in regional imbalance is the lack of sufficient transportation facilities. Nepal’s high mountainous region is economically backward due to the same reason of inexpensive transport. Availability of the feasible means of transportation has failed Karnali, the biggest zone of Nepal, in developing its economy. Ropeways can be a better means in the high mountainous, rugged hilly areas to carry man and goods to and from different areas.
